Rapidus Classic Cars isn’t just a rental service — it’s a story of heritage, passion, and one family’s mission to keep a cultural icon alive.
It all began in 2000
At a turning point in the life of our founder, Ante Ćatipović. While flipping through a magazine, he came across a striking image — classic VW Beetles and old Citroen Dyanes cruising through the streets of Cape Town. Something about that scene resonated deeply. In that instant, a new dream was born: to bring that same carefree spirit and vintage charm to the coastlines of Croatia.
What began with a single Beetle…
Restored by one pair of hands — has grown into Europe’s and most likely the world’s largest commercial fleet of VW Beetle convertibles, all lovingly rebuilt in our family workshop in Dicmo. Among local car lovers, it’s become known as “Little Wolfsburg”.
Today
the tradition continues
under the care of Ante’s son, Bruno, with the same dedication, skill, and heart. Each car is restored by hand, maintained with care, and shared with guests who want more than just a ride.
